I have had my Gen4 Glock 19 since they first came out. I have had no problems with this weapon, but I did change the recoil spring (which Glock supplied free of charge).
The grip is superior to previous grips. It’s thinner and with just the right amount of texture change to ensure a good firm grip. I have owned many Glocks, and have sold many Glocks, But this one is a keeper.
The Gen4 has renewed my interest in the Glock pistol. There have been too many reviews on the internet already, so this is just a short one to let you know how happy I am with my purchase. The Glock may not be as attractive as many other high dollar guns, but it has always been dependable. My Glock has lasted longer with no problems than all the 1911’s I have owned and sold. It is ready to shoot right out of the box without the typical 200 round break-in that so many other manufactures suggest for their firearms. It shoots straight and true every time. The only thing that I have changed is the plastic sights, which are now Truglo Trituim fiber optic sights. The Glocks have so many after-market parts that will fit perfectly on the firearm… you could spend weeks searching and shopping. I will never sell my Glock Gen4.
The gen 4 was a step down for us. It was taken away from our department after multiple failures!
The problem we had when putting it through dept test, was when after we had put 400 rounds through them, many of them had failed, and ended in slide lock. No problems with the gen 3. The Glock 9mm is an excellent weapon, but the .40 cal needs some rethinking. Don’t get me wrong… I love my gen 3.
